Dear Friends,
Every year our community helps those in need celebrate the holidays. Holidays at our Federal Way Senior Center / Food Bank / Nutritional Meal Program are a very special time thanks to the support of our very generous community. The center is dedicated to improving the lives of seniors, families, children and individuals of all ages.
The Senior Center offers a warm comfortable atmosphere in our log cabin clubhouse where friends can enjoy good company, live music, singing, dancing, lunch and learn programs, holiday celebrations, parties and other weekly activities. They also participate in our buffet breakfast, tasty lunch, Food Bank, Community Garden, Thrift Shop, computer lab and bingo.
Of all the programs and services we provide the one that has the greatest effect on the health and well-being of our participants is our buffet breakfast and hot lunch program offered 5 days per week, prepared in our newly remodeled kitchen. We surpassed our 2018 end of the year goal of 5600 meals served we set at the beginning of the year. To date, we have served over 8200 breakfasts and lunches. Thank you to the Department of Commerce and The Rotary Club of Federal Way for the generous grants, contributions and sponsorship of our kitchen renovation.
Complementing our Meal Program is our Food Bank that is now a Grocery Rescue and Food Lifeline Partner Agency. Our Food Bank is open Monday and Thursday mornings, which provides food to over 400 people per week. We open our Food Bank to seniors, families with children, and individuals in need. Last month, 30 people who received food from our food bank were 0-2 years old, 344 were 3 - 18 years old, 320 were 19-54 years old and 339 were 55 and over.
For so many in our community a warm place to come, receive a hot meal, and take food home from our Food Bank can make all the difference in the world. As the holidays approach, we are writing to ask you to consider making a tax deductible donation to support those in need in our community who benefit from the work of the Federal Way Senior Center, Food Bank and Meal Program.
No donation is too small, any amount will be greatly appreciated.
You may send a check to:
Federal Way Senior Center
Non-profit Tax Identification Number 91-0936089
4016 South 352nd Street

All funds received will help us provide assistance to those in need – not just during the holidays, but throughout the year. We have more people seeking basic food donations than ever before and our resources are limited. We are dependent on the generosity of donors and volunteers to continue providing much needed services to people in our community.
Wishing you and your family a very joyful Holiday Season and a Happy New Year!
